Budget 2024-25: Rs 26,000 Crore Announced For Bihar Road Projects

The Finance Minister is presenting Modi 3.0's first union budget in the parliament today

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the Union Budget 2024-25 in the parliament today.

She stated that the govt will focus on states in Eastern part of the country for all round development of the region. This will include Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh. 

The development of infrastructure in the region will enable it to become an engine to attain Viksit Bharat. The new Amritsar-Kolkata corridor will catalyse industrial development of eastern region, according to the FM. 

Several announcements have been made for the states of Bihar and Andhra Pradesh after both the states have been expecting special announcements from the budget.  

Bihar 

A fund of Rs 26,000 crore has been allocated to Bihar road projects, along with the announcement of construction of new airports, medical colleges and sports institutions. 

The industrial route in Gaya will be financed by the government. The request of Bihar govt for external assistance from multilateral banks will be expedited.

Projects to build flood control management plant will also be built in Bihar.

Govt will support the development of Rajgir and Nalanda due to the cultural importance they hold.

Andhra Pradesh 

Andhra Pradesh seems to be getting great attention as Sitharaman announced that the government will help in securing special funding of Rs 15,000 through multilateral agencies. The government will also allocate special capital outlay for the state for all round development including water and housing.
