ZULU has built a patentable technology that can address the needs of the Indian Armed Forces as well as the global market, according to a company statement.
Zulu Defence System, a Bengaluru-based deeptech start-up, has closed a $750k seed funding round led by Finvolve, a B2B wealth management firm. ZULU focusses in providing advanced air defense aerial systems for rapid deployment, resilient ISR, precision strikes, and countermeasure capabilities in contested environments.
ZULU has built a patentable technology that can address the needs of the Indian Armed Forces as well as the global market, according to a company statement. The start-up has the in-house capacity to indigenously develop the hardware and software. This gives it a minimum of 3 years of advantage over any competitor to build similar technology, as per the company statement.

This funding round has generated significant interest from other investment funds, prominent family offices, and individual investors across the country, as per the company.
There has been a rise in defence start-ups in India. There are more than 300 defence start-ups in the country, as per Inc42. Several start-ups have also received significant grants from the Innovations for Defence Excellence initiative for more than Rs 200 crore.
