Amazon and Hyundai announced on 17 November, Thursday, that they will start selling Hyundai cars online in the US early next year.
Customers will be able to purchase, equip, and shop for a car at Amazon's website and arrange for delivery through a nearby Hyundai dealer.

"Some exciting news for customers. Amazon will be launching online vehicle sales in the US next year, starting with Hyundai. Will be part of our strategic partnership with them to help make the buying experience easier, add the Alexa experience into their next-gen vehicles, and help them transform their customer experiences and business operations through their move to AWS," said Amazon CEO Andy Jassy on X (formerly Twitter).
The collaboration is an extension of one that was launched two years prior, allowing consumers to configure a vehicle, find a dealer to finish the sale, and access Hyundai's digital showroom on Amazon according to a report by Reuters.
In 2018, Hyundai launched its first virtual showroom on Amazon.com. At the Los Angeles Auto Show, the most recent iteration was unveiled.
The new agreement will also allow customers who purchase new Hyundai vehicles in 2025 to use Amazon's Alexa voice assistant directly from their cars.
Amazon currently offers car accessories and has a platform called 'Amazon Vehicle Showrooms' where manufacturers can promote their products. However, up until now, customers were unable to make purchases for the vehicles they were researching, such as cars, trucks, or SUVs.
