SpiceJet Denies Knowledge Of New Firms Being Floated By Spouses Of Company Execs

News of new firm called Sirius India Airlines Pvt. Ltd. set the internet on fire yesterday

SpiceJet Ltd. stated on Monday that it was not aware of any key executive spouses establishing an aviation firm and that the new company would need the carrier's approval to launch such a venture.

On 16 October, news of a new firm—Sirius India Airlines Pvt. Ltd.—floated by the spouses of two important company executives—Chief Operating Officer Arun Kashyap and Chief Commercial Officer Shilpa Bhatia—set social media ablaze, according to Mint.

“Sirius India Airlines was incorporated in August 2023, but the company has remained inactive and has not undertaken any activity since its registration. Any future activity by the company will be carried out only with the consent of SpiceJet Ltd," a SpiceJet spokesperson told Mint.

Meenakshi Kashyap and Ajay Bhatia are listed as the two directors of Sirius India Airlines in the data that is currently available.

Arun Kashyap, the chief operational officer at SpiceJet, is married to Meenakshi Kashyap. Shilpa Bhatia, the chief commercial officer at SpiceJet, is married to Ajay Bhatia.

Bhatia is in her third employment with the airline, she is in charge of the network planning, sales, and revenue management departments. In accordance with her current title, she also reports directly to Singh.

Sirius India Airlines is an unlisted private company that was established on August 18, according to information collected by company data site Toflr. It is based in Delhi and is categorized as a private limited corporation.

The entire paid-up capital is 10 lakh, while the authorized share capital is 2.1 crore. Meenakshi Kashyap and Ajay Bhatia are listed as the two directors of Sirius India Airlines in the data that is currently available.
