Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta Ltd has appointed Sonal Shrivastava as the new chief financial officer (CFO). Effective June 1, Holcim Group’s Sonal Shrivastava will take charge as Vedanta’s CFO.
At Vedanta, Sonal Shrivastava will be heading and overlooking the group’s financial strategy. She will also be responsible for accounting, tax, treasury, investor relations, financial planning and analytics. Amid all this, driving digitalization and profitability will also be key.
Shrivastava joins Vedanta with over 25 years of experience in the field of finance. At Holcim Group, she served the office of CFO for their Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa operations.
“We are delighted to have Sonal join us as our Chief Financial Officer. Her global experience and successful track record of delivering robust financial outcomes across sectors makes her a valuable addition. We are confident that she will play a vital role in the company’s future year,” Anil Agarwal said in an official statement.
“Vedanta has made remarkable strides and there are considerable prospects for further growth. I look forward to contributing to the company’s success by leveraging strategic & financial initiatives and working collaboratively to develop and implement strategies that accelerate performance and enhance value for all stakeholders,” Sonal Shrivastava said in an official statement.
Sonal Shrivastava’s appointment as Vedanta’s CFO comes at a time when the company’s acting CFO Ajay Goel resigned from the company in March. Goel, an industry stalwart too, at present is the group chief financial officer for BYJU’s’ education technology.
