The BSE Sensex rose 69.58 points or 0.11 percent to 65,697.72, and the NSE Nifty gained 18.60 points or 0.10 percent at 19,547.40.

The Indian rupee opened at 82.78, 3 paise down against the US dollar on Tuesday pulled by rising crude oil prices. On Monday, the rupee closed 3 paise lower at 82.75 per US dollar.

Shares of Rail Vikash Nigam Ltd (RVNL) jumped about 3 per cent on Tuesday after the company’s joint venture emerged as the lowest bidder for a railway project worth Rs 174 crore.

RVNL-MPCC JV has emerged as the lowest bidder for all civil engineering works including earthwork, blanketing, construction of station buildings and complete track works. It will also gauge construction work between Petlad – Bhadran (22.50 KMs) of Vadodara Division of Western Railway.

At 11:40 AM, the PSU stock was trading 2.49 per cent higher at Rs 158.25. On 4 September, RVNL touched its all-time high of Rs 163.45 after the company announced that it has secured orders worth Rs 604.19 crore from the Madhya Gujarat Vij Company.

Sensex is trading 116.22 points or 0.18 per cent higher at Rs 65,745.30 at 12:00 PM. Nifty is 38.65 points or 0.20 per cent up at Rs 19,569.49.

Tata Motors’ Allotment Committee has approved the allotment of 4,55,218 equity shares to eligible employees pursuant to the exercise of stock options at an exercise price of Rs 345 apiece. After the allotment, the paid-up ordinary share capital of the Tata Group company will increase to Rs 664.51 crore from Rs 664.42 crore.

Dilip Buildcon Ltd-Patel Engineering Ltd has received letter of acceptance (LOA) for a drinking water project in Madhya Pradesh. The contract comprises engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, trial run and operation, and maintenance for 10 years for Narmada-Gambhir, District Ujjain and Indore multi-village drinking water supply scheme in a single package on ‘Turn-key Job Basis’.

The project worth Rs 1,275.30 crore will be executed in joint venture. It is located in Ujjain and Indore.
