Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of companies prioritizing efficiency in their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives for social intervention, as stated on Saturday.
While discussing the efficient utilization of resources, it was highlighted by Singh at the 10th edition of the 'CSR Journal Excellence Awards 2023' in BSE that organizations should place greater emphasis on the effectiveness of social intervention within their CSR initiatives and also incorporate international best practices, as per a report by PTI.
"As we talk about effective resource utilisation, organisations need to focus more on efficiency in social intervention in their CSR programmes and also adopt global best practices," the Union Defence Minister said.
The Union Ministry recognized and honored individuals including Padma Shri Dr. Ravindra, Smita Kolhe, Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar, Ira Dubey, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Shrikant Shinde, Arunachalam Muruganantham, among others, by presenting awards.

He advocated for the equitable distribution of the global carbon budget among all developing nations and highlighted India's progress in meeting its Nationally Determined Contribution targets, showcasing a developmental model that skillfully balances ecological preservation and economic growth.
