Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, replaced Adani group chairman Gautam Adani to emerge as the world’s third richest person on Tuesday.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a daily ranking of the world's wealthiest individuals, Adani’s net worth declined by $872 in the past 24 hours, causing a drop in his ranking. As it stands now, French fashion Bernard Arnault tops the list with a net worth of $188 billion.
Arnault is followed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk whose net worth is $145 billion. Gautam Adani is the only Indian in the top 10 positions. His present net worth is $120 billion. Jeff Bezos, who overtook Adani earlier in the day, is reported to have a net worth of $121 billion.
India’s second richest person and Reliance group chairman Mukesh Ambani is now the twelfth richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of $84.7 billion.
Gautam Adani, however, occupies the third position in the real-time billionaires list, according to Forbes. His net worth is recorded at $126.4 billion in this list, whereas Jeff Bezos is placed fourth with a net worth of $120.7 billion.
In the Forbes list, Bernault and Musk continue to occupy the top two spots. Mukesh Ambani is placed at the ninth position with an estimated net worth of $86.8 billion.
