iPhone-maker Apple is reportedly all set to open its flagship India retail store in Mumbai in April. As per updates, after Mumbai, Apple’s next retail store will reportedly come up in New Delhi.
According to an Economic Times report, Apple’s flagship store in Mumbai is coming up over 22,000 square feet in the Jio World Drive Mall owned by Reliance Industries. It also adds that Apple’s this store will be very similar to the flagship outlets in Los Angeles, New York, Beijing, Singapore and Milan.
The report adds that Apple’s India retail store in New Delhi will open in Select Citywalk mall in Saket. This outlet will be spread over almost 10,000 square feet and similar to Apple’s Mumbai store, this is also in-line to open in April. If everything goes as per the plan, the New Delhi store may reportedly open just a few days after the Mumbai store.
“Fitouts are completed for both the stores.. In fact, the fitout was completed for the Delhi store ahead of the Mumbai one....But since Mumbai will be the flagship Apple store in India, it will open first next month. The Delhi one will open soon after,” ET quoted a source, as saying.
Recently, Apple’s leading contract manufacturer Foxconn too, reportedly won the AirPods order for setting up the plant in India. With this, Foxconn will be able to make AirPods in India and as per last updates, this plant is expected to be in Telangana.
