NDA Set to Return to Power With 292 Seats, BJP Falls Short of Majority; INDIA bags 234 Seats

The National Democratic Alliance managed to win a simple majority of 292 seats. BJP fell short of 272-majority mark as it won 240 seats.

Results of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are out. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won a third consecutive term with 292 seats while the INDIA bloc executed a surge in vote share and seats to end at 232. Elections were held in the country across seven different phases between April 19 and June 1.

All exit polls had predicted a strong mandate for the NDA, with estimated seat count between 350 and 400. However, the opposition alliance managed to dent BJP's share in several big states which include Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal.
