Neeraj Chopra Settles for Silver at Paris Olympics, Know his Net Worth

Neeraj Chopra settled for a silver medal in the Olympic javelin with a throw of 89.45m. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem claimed the gold with a throw of 92.97 meters.

The Javelin thrower rose to fame after winning a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics held in 2020. Following this he instantly became a national hero. But national glory is not all that he has in his kitty of achievements.  

On the one hand, he scripted history for India at the International championship, and on the other, he became a millionaire overnight.  

Chopra, a farmer's son, started with a humble background and currently, has a net worth of around Rs 37.6 crore as per a report in the Free Press Journal. His salary which is nearly Rs 4 crore comes from match fees.

Following his big gold win in Tokyo Olympics, multiple governments awarded him with cash rewards. The state government of Punjab gave him a cash prize of Rs 2 crore. The Haryana government also gave him cash rewards worth Rs 6 crore and Indian Railways gave him Rs 3 crore.

 But that’s not all. The edtech startup BYJU'S applauded his golden victory with a monetary reward of Rs 2 crore. One of the IPL teams, Chennai Super Kings bestowed upon him Rs 2 crore sum, followed by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s prize money of Rs 1 crore. Apart from being the poster boy of Indian Athletics, he is the face of several renowned brands. 

Brand endorsements have swelled up his pockets and are a major source of income for Chopra. He is brand ambassador of Swiss luxury watch Omega and has recently, joined actor Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan as brand ambassador of Eveready, a battery company. In 2023, he signed an important brand deal with sportswear company Under Armour. Additionally, he is also associated with brands like Limca, BYJU'S, Nike, JSW Sports, Britannia and Mobil India, according to Free Press Journal report.
