The primary goal of Jio SpaceFiber is to deliver high-speed broadband services to areas in India that were previously beyond the reach of such connectivity. The product's services will be accessible throughout the entire expanse of the nation, offered at exceptionally budget-friendly rates. Presently, Jio SpaceFiber is already in operation in four of the most remote areas in India, including Gir in Gujarat, Korba in Chhattisgarh, Nabarangpur in Odisha, and ONGC-Jorhat in Assam.

“Jio has enabled millions of homes and businesses in India to experience broadband internet for the first time. With JioSpaceFiber, we expand our reach to cover the millions yet to be connected. JioSpaceFiber will allow everyone, everywhere, to fully participate in the new digital society with gigabit access to online government, education, health, and entertainment services,” said Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited.

Through partnering with SES, the company is tapping into the medium earth orbit (MEO) satellite technology. Leveraging SES's O3b and the latest O3b mPOWER satellites, Jio aims to provide Gigabit internet services that are equivalent to fiber-optic connectivity, directly from space.
