Supreme Court Grants Bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the Excise Policy Case

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan granted relief to Kejriwal on a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh, and two sureties

On Friday, the Supreme Court granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor excise policy case. The Court had reserved its verdict on September 5 after hearing arguments from both Kejriwal's legal team and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Kejriwal had approached the Delhi High Court directly and then moved to the apex court.

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan granted the relief to Kejriwal on a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh, and two sureties.

The top court directed Kejriwal not to make any public comment on the merits of the case.
