Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Minister of Industrial Development in Uttar Pradesh, on Friday, inaugurated the two-day Uttar Pradesh Medical Tourism Summit and Pharma expo organized at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. Major pharmaceutical companies are participating in this summit, which aims to promote UP as a focal point for medical tourism as guided by PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath.
During his address, Nandi stated that UP has emerged as India’s investment capital under the guidance of PM Modi and the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath.
“Uttar Pradesh has implemented a new industrial policy for the first time, known as the umbrella policy, which outlines sector-specific strategies. These policies have been crafted by addressing the unique needs and challenges of different sectors. Stakeholders' inputs were also incorporated, resulting in the formulation of effective and optimal policies,” Nandi said.
UP government has taken several significant measures to promote medical tourism. The Global Investor Summit attracted a considerable number of investment proposals related to health and wellness. The government is resolute in its commitment to advancing this sector to unprecedented levels.
The event was attended by Chief Minister's advisors Avanish Awasthi and Dr GN Singh, Chief General Manager of SIDBI Manish Sinha, Chairman of UPHARAE Surendra Kumar Jayaswal, Director of SGPI Prof. R.K. Dheeman, Ph.D. Chamber Vice President of UP Chapter Pradeep Agrawal, Conference Chairman Ashutosh Soti, Assistant Secretary General of PHD Chamber Dr. Jatinder Singh, and Regional Director of PHD UP State Chapter Atul Srivastava.
The summit and pharma expo will end on 28 October. The event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Medical Health & Family Welfare & Department of Tourism & Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
