Entertainment giant Viacom18 may reportedly get a new chief executive officer (CEO) very soon. As per a report, Viacom18 may soon rope in Disney Star’s Kevin Vaz to lead the company.
According to a report in the Economic Times, Kevin Vaz, head of Disney Star’s entertainment business and second-in-command, has resigned from the company. Vaz served close to two decades at Disney Star but has now reportedly left the role for something new.
Based on its sources, the report adds that Kevin Vaz may now join Viacom18 as the CEO, most likely replacing Jyoti Deshpande. This is because Viacom18 may go through some major changes in its organisational structure in the coming months.
As of now, Jyoti Deshpande is the CEO of Viacom18; she also serves as the President of the Media Business at Reliance Industries, and Anil Jayaraj is the CEO for sports business.
Lately, Viacom18 has particularly been doing well as the company also has the official digital broadcasting rights for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The company also recently completed the process of allotting shares to Reliance Industries Ltd and Bodhi Tree Systems.
However, please note that neither Viacom18 nor Disney Star have officially commented on this development or shared any inputs.
