Wipro December Quarter Profit Rises 3% To Rs 3,053 Crore On Strong Deal Pipeline

Wipro's net profit in December quarter rose 3 per cent annually to Rs 3,053 crore from Rs 2,969 crore in the same quarter last year. Its revenue from operations rose 14.4 per cent annually to Rs 23,230 crore. The upmove came on the back of large deal signings, the company said.

In dollar terms Wipro's revenue in third quarter of current financial year came in at $2.8 billion and company recorded 10.4 per cent growth in constant currency terms annually.

During the quarter Wipro booked record deals worth $4.3 billion, up 26 per cent annually and it closed 11 large deals resulting in a TCV of over $1 billion, the company said.

The company has said that it expects revenue from IT services business for the full year to be in the range of 11.5 to 12.0 per cent in constant currency terms. 

Wipro's attrition moderated 180 basis points to 21.2 per cent.

 “I am pleased to report that we have delivered another quarter of double-digit revenue growth. Our Total Bookings were over $4.3 billion, led by solid large deal signings of over $1 billion. We improved our margins by 120 basis points and our attrition moderated for the fourth quarter in a row," said Thierry Delaporte, CEO and Managing Director.

"We are continuing to gain market share as a result of deepening client relationships and higher win rates. Clients are turning to us to help them manage an evolving macro environment and balance their transformation goals with cost optimization. Our ability to deliver on client objectives regardless of where they are in their cloud journeys is positioning us favourably in a consolidating market," he added.

Wipro shares ended 0.2 per cent lower at Rs 394 ahead of its earnings announcement.
