Wednesday opened positive for both the benchmark indices as the Sensex gained 34.86 points or 0.10 per cent to stand at 35,413.46 and the Nifty by 12.40 points or 0.12 per cent and stood at 10,712.30, in the initial hours of the market opening.

Wednesday opened positive for both the benchmark indices as the Sensex gained 34.86 points or 0.10 per cent to stand at 35,413.46 and the Nifty by 12.40 points or 0.12 per cent and stood at 10,712.30, in the initial hours of the market opening.
At the BSE, Indo Count Industries Ltd, Mark Sans Pharma Ltd and Sobha Ltd were the top gainers whereas Shriram Transport Finance Corporation Ltd, Shriram City Union Finance Ltd and Vakrangee Ltd were the top losers, till now.
At the NSE, Lupin, Infratel and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories were dominating the market while Grasim Industries Ltd, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd and BPCL were seeing losses.
The initial hours of the market opening saw a decline in the Indian currency by Rs 0.0675 or 0.1 per cent to the US Dollar to stand at Rs 68.5075.
In the commodities sector, gold gained Rs 104 or 0.34 per cent to stand at Rs 30,597 per 10 grams and Brent Crude rose by Rs 50 or 0.39 per cent and was at Rs 5110 per bbl, at the time of writing the report.
Meanwhile, in the banking sector, Axis Bank and State Bank of India dropped by over 1.15 points or 0.22 per cent and 1.35 points or 0.52 per cent, respectively. HDFC Bank was on gaining terms by 10.85 points or 0.52 per cent, according to the BSE reports.
