SC pushes Aadhaar-linking deadline to March 31

Fretting over the looming December 31 deadline for linking Aadhaar to various services? You can heave a sigh of relief as the Supreme Court has extended the deadline to March 31, 2018. Apart from services like welfare schemes, bank accounts, mutual funds and insurance policies, the order is also applicable to mobile numbers, where the original deadline was February 6, 2018. 

This is interim relief until the apex court hears appeals challenging the constitutional validity of the Aadhaar framework on January 17, 2018.
