In the BSE Sensex, Bharti Airtel witnessed the highest gains with 5.13 per cent, followed by ICICI Bank (4.76 per cent), SBI (3.75 per cent), Axis Bank(2.67 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (2.52 per cent), while Infosys Limited lost worth 1.56 per cent, followed by HDFC Bank, L&T, Adani Ports with a loss of 1.41 per cent, 1.19 per cent, 0.90 per cent and 0.80 per cent, respectively, at the end of the day.
The NSE market saw Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank and SBI end as the top three gainers rising by 5.68 per cent, 4.88 per cent and 3.40 per cent, respectively, whereas HDFC Bank, Infosys and HCL Technologies Limited were the biggest losers.
The S&P BSE mid-cap and small-cap indices had a positive day as they gained 48.48 points or 0.30 per cent and 90.24 points or 0.55 per cent, respectively, to close at 15,961.10 and 16,540.44, at the end of the trading session.
