Prime Minister Modi presented these advanced seed varieties, developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), at experimental plots in Delhi. During the event, Modi engaged with farmers and scientists, highlighting the significance of these innovations in improving farm output and reducing input costs.

The new varieties aim to bolster both field and horticultural crops, including cereals, millets, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants. Modi emphasised the role of value addition in agriculture and the growing demand for nutritious, organic food. He also discussed the benefits of natural farming and urged Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) to promote the new seeds actively.

Farmers expressed optimism about the lower costs and enhanced benefits of these seeds, while Modi commended the scientists for their contributions to sustainable and climate-resilient farming practices. This initiative is part of Modi’s broader effort to integrate biofortified crops into government nutrition programmes and support farmers' livelihoods through sustainable agriculture.
