Reliance Industries Set To Launch India’s First Solar Giga-Factory

India’s largest company is set to inaugurate the country’s first solar giga-factory this fiscal year as part of its ambitious plan to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2035

Reliance Industries is taking a bold step towards a greener future by planning to commission its inaugural solar giga-factory by March 2025. This factory will be pivotal in Reliance's strategy to reach net zero carbon emissions from its operations within a decade and a half. The giga-factory will initially focus on a 20GW solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing capacity, with plans to scale up to 20GW by 2026.

The facility will manufacture a comprehensive range of solar products, including PV modules, cells, wafers, ingots, polysilicon, and glass—all critical components in converting sunlight into electricity. This ambitious project marks a significant investment in sustainable energy and is a cornerstone of Reliance's broader green energy strategy.

The solar giga-factory represents a major leap in India's renewable energy sector and underscores Reliance's commitment to driving the country's transition to sustainable energy solutions.
