The US and India reaffirm their commitment to advance clean energy transitions by deepening cooperation across technology, manufacturing, and policy frameworks
During the Strategic Clean Energy Partnership (SCEP) Ministerial, US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and Indian Minister Hardeep Singh Puri reviewed progress in clean energy innovations, renewable deployment, and building secure, resilient supply chains. To accelerate sustainable energy, they pledged to deepen cooperation.
Key initiatives include hydrogen technology, renewable grid integration, and transport electrification. Both countries emphasised the importance of sustainable aviation fuel and carbon capture while welcoming expanded collaboration on energy storage and modernising India's power distribution sector.
The ministers praised the formal launch of the Renewable Energy Technology Action Platform (RETAP), which focusses on hydrogen, energy storage, offshore wind, and geothermal technologies. They highlighted India's efforts in deploying round-the-clock renewable energy and the Indian Railways’ commitment to net zero emissions by 2030. The US-India partnership aims to address climate challenges through innovative solutions and strengthen both nations' clean energy markets.
