Neeraj Chopra settled for a silver medal in the men's javelin at the Paris Olympics with a throw of 89.45 meters. Atlys CEO Mohak Nahta, who had promised that he would give free visas to Indians if Chopra won gold, said that he would keep his word.
Taking to LinkedIn, Nahta mentioned that it wasn’t the color of the medal but “our spirit” that truly shined.
“I'm going ahead with our original offer of free visas for all Indians today. People who commented with emails on my earlier posts will receive instructions over email from Atlys on how to redeem this offer shortly. Proudly Indian, Mohak,” he wrote on LinkedIn.
Nahta had earlier said that his company would offer free visas to everyone if Neeraj Chopra won a gold at the Olympics. In a follow-up post, Nahta mentioned the procedure to get the visa. He wrote that based on the results from August 8th, he would credit each user who commented on his earlier post with a free visa. He explained that this credit could be used for any country from August 9th, starting at 10:00 AM until 11:59 PM.
Meanwhile, some users mentioned that they had not received any email from Atlys. Upon logging in, they observed that everything seemed unchanged, including the pricing.
Another user wrote, “I was able to login and see visas at 0 INR. I applied for one of them, submitted all relevant documents, everything got uploaded, and at the end I got a 'Done' screen. The screen was frozen, and I couldn't navigate further anywhere. When I logged in again through another browser, I saw that the application was incomplete and repeated the same process again, ending up stuck on the 'Done' screen.”
After Chopra’s win in the Paris Olympics, brands have celebrated his success story with witty posts and congratulatory messages. Swiggy, Netflix, and Spotify are some of the brands that joined hands to celebrate Chopra’s win.
Chopra, meanwhile, is not happy with his performance. He reportedly said, “It was a good throw, but I’m not that happy with my performance.” His groin injury was one of the reasons that prevented him from giving his best. As per Paris Olympics News, he said, “In training, I’m not doing a lot of throws because of my groin (injury). But I will work hard in the future."
