With the rebranding, Ola will look to offer a wide range of consumer services, which are more accessible, affordable and efficient, according to Aggarwal.

In the ride-hailing segment, Bhavish Aggarwal said his enterprise would relaunch its ride-sharing service, Ola Share. With Ola Share, customers can get cheap rides by sharing them with others. It went live on August 15 in Bengaluru and will be gradually developed from there.

Ola said that despite the sharing of cab services, the deviation would be less than 20 minutes and that a maximum of two people can avail of a shared taxi under the model.

In the ecommerce sector, Ola would be looking to pour more investments into its partnership with ONDC.

“ONDC is the UPI moment for e-commerce in India. Ola is an early partner of ONDC and we will aim to scale ONDC across India,” Aggarwal said as per Inc42.

The company reportedly claims that its food and grocery delivery on ONDC has surpassed 40 thousand orders per day. It is hoping to go deeper into this segment and will offer free Krutrim Cloud services for all ONDC suppliers. It will be applicable for start-ups and SMEs, under a fair usage policy. D2C brands, in addition, will also be given one year of free access to Krutrim Cloud.

Ola has also launched, Ola Coin, in Bengaluru through which customers can avail various benefits across mobility, ecommerce and logistics services. Ola has also forayed into the financial segment. It has launched Ola Pay and Ola Credit.

Customers can use Ola UPI, on the Ola app, to pay for their products.

With Ola credit, Ola users can get access to low cost loans. For this, the company has reportedly partnered with Tata Capital and InCred.

Ola is hoping to upgrade its last mile logistics to bring down the costs by about 50%.

“With a consistent focus on sustainable mobility solutions and providing a backbone to ONDC operations, Ola Consumer plans to drive cost synergies by electrifying delivery logistics and reducing logistics costs,” the company reportedly said.

Ola Consumer will have an AI shopping copilot to help in brand its discovery and personalise the customer's shopping experience. The AI copilot is active now and will help users connect with their social media platforms and other apps to get an integrated digital shopping experience.

Ola also unveiled fully automated dark stores and fulfillment centres under the Ola Consumer banner. The new dark stores will look to make the warehousing space that supercharges the commerce supply chain.
