Schools across North India, mainly - Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Meerut, Hapur, and parts of Haryana, have been shut due to the worsening air quality
GRAP 4 measures were imposed in the national capital on Saturday due to acute pollution. Initially, only schools for Classes 10 and 12 were to remain open but on the orders of the Supreme Court, schools for Classes 10 and 12 were also shut. Major universities (DU, JNU, and Jamia Milia Islamia) also suspended physical classes
All schools have been shifted to online mode in Noida, at least until November 23. Schools in Ghaziabad and Meerut have been closed until further notice
The extreme pollution has resulted in the suspension of classes in Gurugram and Faridabad as well, and the same are supposed to take place online until further notice
Other districts have also implemented school closure to deal with the ill effects of pollution. Schools in Charkhi Dadri, Bhiwani, Rewari, and others are believed to remain shut until at least November 23
