OYO’s International Summer Holidays Travelopedia 2025 reveals how Indian travellers are reshaping global travel trends. The report highlights a sharp rise in bookings to visa-easy destinations such as Dubai, Bali, and Bangkok—driven by relaxed visa rules, improved connectivity, and a rising preference for premium holiday experiences.
Indian bookings to visa-friendly countries grew 65% year-on-year in H1 2025. Destinations like Dubai, Bali and Bangkok—regions where OYO operates a network of 50 premium hotels—saw a surge, fuelled by smoother visa processes and increasing demand for affordable yet premium travel.
Dubai is the most booked global destination for Indian families, with a 3X year-on-year (YoY) growth in bookings. This jump is largely due to the five-year multiple-entry visa for Indian nationals, attracting both family travellers and budget business visitors.
Bali has witnessed a sharp rise in bookings from Indian couples in H1 2025. The destination is gaining popularity for its accessibility and traveller-friendly policies. OYO is strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia with new premium hotels to cater to this growing demand.
OYO’s Sunday and Palette brands are seeing rising demand among Indian travellers. In H1 2025 alone, OYO added 13 new premium hotels in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Its top booked properties include Sunday Mega Hotel in Dubai and Townhouse Hotel Gunung Sahari in Jakarta.
Indian travellers now prefer 5–7-day trips for Southeast Asia and 3–5 days for the Middle East. For Europe and the US, trips range from 10–15 days. Proximity to beaches, nightlife and cultural hotspots remains the most important factor when choosing where to stay.
OYO sees rising demand for destination weddings in Bali and Dubai through its Total Holidays platform. Digital nomads are also flocking to Malaysia and Indonesia, attracted by affordable stays, reliable internet, and vibrant coworking setups—supported by OYO’s serviced apartments and long-stay offerings.
Ankit Tandon, Global CBO and CEO, OYO Vacation Homes, said in a statement: "Our premium property expansion program includes both hotels and serviced apartments, designed to meet the needs of business and leisure travelers alike."
"In the UAE, we have a network of over 400 premium apartments in Abu Dhabi and 350+ in Dubai, catering primarily to professionals seeking long-term stays. At the same time, we are rapidly growing our portfolio of premium hotels across leading tourist destinations in Asia, including Dubai, Bali, Bangkok, Pattaya, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Jeddah, Riyadh, Angeles, and many others," Tandon added.
