I read all kinds of genres — from action-adventure, thrillers and mysteries to plots inspired by true events and biographies. One of the books I particularly like is Dare not Linger: The Presidential Years by Nelson Mandela and Mandla Langa. Mandela’s vision to build a nation where everyone is equal is inspiring, and his leadership was honest. And the book hasn’t been written in a history book format. It beautifully captures the essence of the life of a charismatic leader.
Just like with books, I have a diverse taste in movies. On one hand, one of my all time favourites is Munna Bhai MBBS and on the other I love Anand. Lately, I haven’t been able to go out to watch movies, but I keep several movies downloaded on Netflix or Prime Video and watch them while travelling by flights.
I love cricket and played it till my college years, but I was never great at it. The true Indian in me loves to watch the ‘Men in Blue’ fighting it out in the field. Cricket is a tough game and it’s filled with uncertainties. You can get hurt even when you’re completely padded. So, it’s a metaphor for life.
I have a huge collection of different types of tea from all over the world. I am not biased to certain flavours or types when it comes to tea or coffee — they are great drinks for the day. During the evenings, I really enjoy my single malts.
Among all the places I have visited, I am extremely fond of Italy. It’s a country where someone can truly enjoy a vacation — full of architectural marvels and cultural heritage, great food and warm people. Florence, in particular, is wonderful, and a walk in the beautiful streets accompanied with a lively vibe at the public places is refreshing.
