Wagh Bakri Scion Parag Desai Dies Of Brain Haemorrhage After Stray Dog Attack

Parag Desai experienced a tragic incident when he fell outside his residence while attempting to evade a group of aggressive street dogs, resulting in a brain hemorrhage.

Parag Desai, at the helm of Gujarat Tea Processors and Packers Limited, the company behind the famed Wagh Bakri tea brand, tragically succumbed to injuries sustained a week earlier in an attack by stray dogs. His death occurred on October 22 at the age of 49 years.

According to a report by the Ahmedabad Mirror, Desai experienced a tragic incident when he fell outside his residence while attempting to evade a group of aggressive street dogs, resulting in a brain hemorrhage. Following the incident, a security guard promptly informed the family and he was immediately admitted to Shelby Hospital for initial treatment. After a day of observation, he was transferred to Zydus Hospital for a surgical procedure.

He died at a private hospital in Ahmedabad on October 22, according to sources cited in The Times of India. He had been on a ventilator for seven days before his passing. He is survived by his wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha.

Parag Desai, the son of Rasesh Desai, who served as the Managing Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group, was a fourth-generation entrepreneur associated with the renowned premium tea company. He had completed his MBA at Long Island University in the United States, played a pivotal role in leading the sales, marketing, and export divisions within the group. He was also known for his expertise in tea tasting and evaluation. Besides this, he was also an active industry player in Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and international organisations.
