EV ride-hailing services and charging infrastructure network operator BluSmart said on Monday it has raised $ 24 million (Rs 200 crore) in a funding round.
The pre-Series B funding round saw participation from existing investors like ResponsAbility Investments AG as well as new investors such as Sumant Sinha, Chairman and CEO of ReNew, and MS Dhoni Family Office.
The fund will support BluSmart in expanding its operations and building EV charging infrastructure and assets in major Indian cities, the company said.
Punit Goyal, Co-Founder, BluSmart, said, “BluSmart is building an integrated energy-infrastructure, mobility, and technology company to take full advantage of the EV revolution. Our latest fundraise of $24 million is an important step in our journey to scale the eMobility fleet and EV charging infrastructure.”

"Investing in BluSmart's sustainable business model is not just about supporting a company; it's about being part of a movement that shapes the future of mobility," Dhoni said. He added, “In a world where innovation drives sustainable choices, I am excited to back BluSmart’s pioneering efforts in reshaping urban transportation.” In the automobile start-up sector, this is Dhoni’s third investment.
In December 2023, the EV platform secured $24 million in an equity round. Founded in 2023 by Anmol Singh Jaggi, Punit K Goyal, and Puneet Singh Jaggi, the company is a ride-hailing platform, but only for electric vehicles. The company is available for customers in New Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, and Bengaluru.

Since its founding in 2019, BluSmart claims to have performed over 15.1 million emission-free trips, totaling over 498 million electric kilometers. This has saved 36 million kilograms of CO2 emissions, it adds.
