IIT Kanpur Start-Up Simactricals Innovates Wireless Charging for EVs, Raises 75 Lakhs In Funding

Simactricals, incubated at the Start-up Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), IIT Kanpur, has announced the development of its wireless charging system.  

Founded in October 2020 by Mihir Mishra and Balaji Sriram, Simactricals has raised Rs 75 lakhs through the SanchiConnect pre-seed cohort programme.  

Simactricals' flagship product is a wireless charging system designed to cater to a wide array of electric vehicles, including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, warehouse bots, rovers, and drones. The company's cutting-edge technology enables seamless charging experiences without the hassle of swapping batteries or dealing with incompatible connectors, thus addressing a critical pain point for EV users across India.

Apart from the Rs 75 lakhs funds raised through the SanchiConnect pre-seed cohort programme, the company has also secured a total of Rs 44 lakhs in government grants.

Initially, the compnay began with the development of its first prototype within a remarkable 45-day timeframe. The inaugural project involved the creation of a wireless charging solution for DRDO drones, allowing these unmanned aerial vehicles to land on designated pads and recharge effortlessly. This initial success laid the foundation for Simactricals to expand its reach and impact within the EV ecosystem, the company added in a statement   

At present, the company is actively engaged with leading 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler manufacturers, collaborating on five Proof of Concepts (POCs) to demonstrate the efficacy of its wireless charging infrastructure, it said in a statement.
