Infosys is urging its employees to return to the office for a minimum of three days a week. The company is considering making this a mandatory requirement in the near future, as previous requests from management to resume regular office routines were not widely followed by employees, as per a report by the Economic Times.

Despite Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy frequently emphasizing the need for 70-hour work weeks to boost productivity and economic growth, the company's directive to return to the office stands firm.

According to an email from department heads, the software company has communicated, “Please start coming to the office at least 3 days a week. It will become mandatory very shortly.”

The email highlighted discontentment with the lackluster response to numerous requests for a return to the office. It pointed out that the three-year duration of the work-from-home arrangement post the COVID-19 pandemic had been sufficiently long. With the exception of cases supported by medical reasons, employees are mandated to commence their return to the office, as per the email's instructions.

The management's discontent resulted from the frequent emptiness of certain delivery units (DUs). As a response, they have urged the immediate presence of employees at campuses hosting offshore development centers (ODCs) for clients. Nevertheless, the company is open to considering individual requests from employees, especially those pertaining to health issues, on a case-by-case basis, as per sources cited by the report.
