Infosys unveils new tech hub in Visakhapatnam that is spread out over 83,759 square feet and is equipped with technologies that will help Infosys achieve its ESG commitments.

Infosys, one of the key tech companies in the Indian tech space recently inaugurated its state-of-the-art innovation centre in Visakhapatnam, the facility was inaugurated by Chief Minister of the state, Shri YS Jagan Mohan Reddy along with a host of ministers.

The facility is spread out over 83,759 square feet and is equipped with technologies that will help Infosys achieve its ESG commitments. The new building consists of systems and techniques which ensure optimum utilization of water and electricity the waste management systems are also taken care of. The building is capable of accommodating up to 1,000 employees.

It should also be noted that Infosys posted a net profit of 6212 crore which is higher than the 6012 crore in the same period, The Bengaluru-based company has reduced its top end 1-2.5 percent revenue growth forecast for the entire year. The new building is also being termed as a major aid and catalyst for the future growth of the company, as the facility will help the company update itself and bring out better products and services in the near future

The new building will help employees working through hybrid mode and aims to bring offices closer to homes. With the help of cutting-edge technologies like Cloud, AI, and Digital, Infosys will be able to recruit, retrain, and upskill local talent to work on opportunities across the globe.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan also stated that 'The inauguration of Infosys’ Visakhapatnam DC is a landmark moment in the city’s growth story. He also acknowledged that "the support of Infosys in giving impetus to the city’s IT landscape and developing its overall ecosystem through community building.

We are confident that this centre will not only give a massive boost to employment in the city but will also strengthen Visakhapatnam’s sustainability story through Infosys’ ESG commitments and efforts.”

A statement by Nilanjan Roy, Chief Financial Officer, Infosys read "Aimed at bringing the workspace closer to Infoscions, this centre will further our approach towards creating hybrid workplaces, and also offer new opportunities to the local talent pool. Visakhapatnam has developed into a favourable investment destination, and we are very grateful to the State Government of Andhra Pradesh for extending their support as we commence our operations here.”
