Tata Power Group CFO and Chief of Strategy Sanjeev Churiwala was conferred upon the 'CFO of the Year' award on September 19. He was awarded under the 'Energy, Infrastructure & Utilities Sector' by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at 3rd edition of the CII CFO Excellence Awards 2023-24 for outstanding financial leadership, strategic innovation, and commitment to sustainable growth.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) CFO Excellence Awards identify and acknowledge individuals who have demonstrated outstanding capabilities and achievements in the finance function. The award recognizes and acknowledges exemplary achievements and professional contributions of CFOs and builds a strong CFO forum to facilitate the sharing of best practices.

Who is Sanjeev Churiwala?
Sanjeev Churiwala is the chief financial officer (CFO) at the Tata Power. Prior to working with Tata Power, Churiwala has worked with APAC and global travel retail as the regional finance director. He has also briefly worked at Ambuja Cements.
Sanjeev Churiwala holds an executive MBA degree from the London Business School. Moreover, he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
“He has a successful track record and diverse experience leading the finance function and working with boards, CEOs and multiple regional and global stakeholders in various industries,” said the Tata Projects website. Moreover, he has nearly 29 years of experience in operational and finance leadership roles with hands-on experience in managing the entire gamut of finance, reporting and controlling of listed companies.
