Twitter CEO Elon Musk has decided to step down from the role of the top boss. As per the official announcement made by the SpaceX and Tesla CEO, Musk has hired a new CEO for Twitter.

Taking to Twitter, Elon Musk announced that since he has hired a new CEO for Twitter, the person would be starting in six months. Once Twitter gets a new CEO, Musk would continue as executive chair and CTO. In his new role, Elon Musk would be overseeing product, software and sysops.

As per the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Elon Musk may have roped in Comcast NBCUniversal executive Linda Yaccarino as the next Twitter CEO as she was already in talks for the job. However, an official confirmation is awaited.

Elon Musk took over as the Twitter CEO in 2022 when he completed his $44 billion-worth Twitter acquisition. Upon his taking over, Parag Agarwal was ruled out and asked to leave Twitter as the CEO.

The WSJ report adds that Yaccarino, the top advertising sales executive at NBCUniversal, interviewed Elon Musk at an advertising conference in Miami. As per international media reports, if Yaccarino leaves the company and joins Twitter, it would be a big blow for NBCUniversal as last month CEP Jeff Shell also announced his exit.
