Dhaval Buch and his wife, SEBI’s chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch are being accused by Hindenburg Research to have been involved in Adani Group’s offshore funds scandal. In January 2023 Hindenburg released a report titled, “The largest con in corporate history”. The Adani Group was reportedly accused of stock manipulation and financial misconduct. In its recent report it has tried to link the market watchdog’s chairperson and her husband.
“... the current SEBI chairperson and her husband, Dhaval Buch, had hidden stakes in the exact same obscure offshore Bermuda and Mauritius funds, found in the same complex nested structure, used by Vinod Adani,” said the US-based short-seller in its recent report.
