Amazon announced the first seven days of the Great Indian festival saw the biggest participation of over one million MSME buyers. This accounts for 142 per cent increase in new MSMEs, who registered with Amazon Business during the festive sale. The event "saw a 61 per cent spike compared to Great Indian Festival 2019", claimed the e-commerce giant.

“With participation from over 1MM MSME buyers in the first 7 days; 2.4X increase in new MSMEs creating an account on Amazon Business; over 50 per cent orders coming from tier 2 & 3 towns, we are greatly humbled by the response and trust that Amazon Business customers have shown during these difficult times,” said Peter George, Director, Amazon Business.

MSMEs are riding the wave with e-commerce platforms expanding their list of items at low rates.
Amazon added the huge participation "comes as a part of Its strategy to enable MSMEs across the country by providing them access to a wide selection of commercial products, great savings on purchases for everyday and long-term business use and help improve their overall efficiency."
The volume of orders placed during the Great Indian Festival is the highest ever for Amazon Business during a week’s time. The company claims it is 108 per cent higher than previous year and has led to a 291 per cent jump in sales. While over 50 per cent of the orders came from Tier 2, 3 markets, Delhi-NCR emerged as the biggest hotspot among Tier 1 markets with two times jump in sales as compared to 2019.
