How does GreenCell Mobility plan to transform the future of mobility in India?
We aim to do it through a multi-pronged approach focused on sustainability and innovation. A key part of our strategy is developing a robust EV charging infrastructure across the country.
We have already established a network of over 250 superfast chargers in urban and rural areas. Additionally, our intracity and intercity bus service, NueGo, has helped avoid over 100,000+ tonnes of tailpipe emissions since inception by transitioning to electric vehicles. We have also invested in a green power plant to support our sustainability mission.
How is GreenCell leveraging e-mobility technology for sustainable transportation?

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, from our investment in a green power plant to the automatic washing systems used to clean our buses. We recognise that e-mobility technology alone is not enough to achieve truly sustainable transportation. That’s why we leverage IoT and AI to optimise fleet management and energy efficiency.
We also carefully source EV battery materials and adopt eco-friendly practices throughout production. Our automatic bus washing system recycles over 90 percent of the water used to wash our NueGo buses. The recycled water is filtered, treated, and reused within a single wash cycle. This eliminates wasteful water drainage while washing buses.

How is your Electric Mobility-as-a-Service (eMaaS) shaping up?
GreenCell Mobility is actively working on establishing eMaaS to redefine urban transportation. This DEVNDRA CHAWLA MD & CEO, GreenCell Mobility, comprehensive solution integrates EVs, charging infrastructure, and digital platforms to offer users a convenient and eco-friendly alternative to traditional modes of transport. The goal is to create an interconnected ecosystem that promotes shared mobility, reducing congestion and emissions in urban areas.
What are your challenges in the e-mobility space, and how do you plan to overcome them?
These include limited charging infrastructure, high vehicle costs, and the need for public awareness. We tackle these through partnerships, advocacy, and innovative models. Strategic partnerships with government agencies have been instrumental in building our charging infrastructure across states. Collaboration with OEMs has helped make EVs more financially viable. We continue working to scale up e-mobility adoption through comprehensive, experience-driven strategies.
How do you see the future of e-mobility in India and GreenCell’s role in it?
GreenCell Mobility envisions a future where e-mobility is the norm rather than the exception in India. As a pioneer in the industry, our role extends beyond providing electric vehicles; we aim to be catalysts for a broader societal shift towards sustainable transportation. By playing a leading role in shaping the future of e-mobility in India, GreenCell is committed to making a lasting and positive impact on the environment and society.
