Hyderabad-based superfood brand Nourish You has raised $2 million in its seed funding round. The investment round saw the participation of Rohit Chennamaneni (co-founder of Darwinbox), Nikhil Kamath (co-founder of Zerodha), Abhijeet Pai ( co-founder of Gruhas Proptech), Abhinay Bollineni (CEO of KIMS Hospitals) and Janardhana Rao of Triumph Group. 

The company will utilise the newly generated capital to diversify its product portfolios by improving its research and development category to improvise new products. Additionally, it will utilise a part of the funds to strengthen the market presence and distribution channels. The company also wants to hire new talents and bolster its branding and marketing.

Founded in 2015 by Sowmya Reddy, Krishna Reddy, and Rakesh Kilaru, Nourish You is known for offering homegrown super seeds - quinoa and chia to Indian consumers. 

Speaking on the fundraiser, Rakesh Kilaru, the founder and CEO of Nourish You, said, “After experiencing the benefits of quinoa and chia- we launched Nourish You to introduce Superfoods to Indian consumers.  As India’s foremost Superfood brand, we are confident of driving the category’s growth in a sustainable manner. The capital will help us expand our team, and distribution channels and increase our investment in research and development.  It will accelerate growth and cement our position as a preferred brand for Superfoods in India.”

Addressing the investment, Rohit Chennamaneni, Co-founder of Darwinbox, said, “From getting the mother seed, government approvals, to field trials across India and finally large-scale cultivation of Quinoa and Chia. As a category-creating brand, Nourish You’s proposition of homegrown chia and quinoa seeds is attractive.”
