Artium Academy Raises $3 Million In Funding Round Led By Chiratae Ventures

Online music learning and community platform Artium Academy has raised $3 million from tech-focused venture capital firm Chiratae Ventures, Businessworld reported.

Entrepreneurs including Madhusudanan R, co-founder of M2P Finance, Priyamvada Balaji, executive director of Lucas Indian Service, Varun Alagh, co-founder of Mamaearth, Piyush Shah, co-Founder of InMobi Group, Vikas Dosala, co-founder of Fraazo and early investors including Anicut Capital, JetSynthesys and Whiteboard Capital also participated in this funding round.

Founded by Ashish Joshi and Nithya Sudhir, Artium Academy offers music education using modern pedagogy combined with technology to deliver elevated learning and performing experience to learners. Sonu Nigam, KS Chithra, Shubha Mudgal, Aruna Sairam, Louis Banks, Gino Banks, Raju Singh, and Aneesh Pradhan, who have joined Artium as faculty leaders for several courses, created and accredited these courses. Ananth Vaidyanathan recently joined the Academy as Chief of Pedagogy.

“Our vision is to make music learning more relevant, participative, and engaging where a user can take the journey of a learner to a performer to a potential influencer with our music tech platform. We are building AI based assessment and prescription tools to aide efficient learning and performing, thereby offering qualitative pedagogy to the learners globally,” Ashish Joshi, founder and chief executive officer of Artium Academy told Businessworld.

Artium's AI-enabled practise studio supplements in-person learning and tracks progress, which is followed by regular online performances within the Artium community of learners, teachers, and maestros, making the learner feel like a star. The company recently announced a partnership with Warner Music India and Global Music Junction (GMJ) to create original music content with its maestros, teachers, and students under the Artium Originals brand.
