Peak XV's rapid scale-up program, Surge, has launched its ninth cohort, which features 32 inspiring founders across 13 start-ups. This marks several significant milestones for the firm. It is the first cohort under the new branding as Peak XV, following its transition from Sequoia India and Southeast Asia. Additionally, Surge has expanded its reach into the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia-based start-ups.

It has cultivated a curated community of start-ups over the years, now comprising nine cohorts, 330+ founders, and 140+ start-ups spanning 16+ sectors, all achieved in less than five years. Impressively, Surge start-ups have collectively secured over $2 billion in follow-on funding post their participation in the programme.

“As we kick start new company-building journeys with our Surge 09 founders, it is clear that we are witnessing the incredible growth of AI and deep-tech innovation, as well as the abundant talent in these sectors emerging from Asia.  We are thrilled to be at the frontlines of innovation alongside our ambitious founders, who are leveraging their expertise to chart new ground in exciting, emerging technologies,” said Rajan Anandan, managing director of Peak XV and Surge.

Surge 09 is a forward-looking cohort composed of diverse companies hailing from India, Singapore, and Australia.

Among the standout companies in this cohort, Mindgrove and InCore, both from India, are positioned to play significant roles in India's aspiration to become a global semiconductor hub. Mindgrove, for instance, has achieved a milestone by becoming the first Indian company to join the global silicon IP giant Imagination's Open Access program.
