VsnapUA, a platform for photography services, has raised over Rs 2 crore in a seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures. It will use these funds for technological advancement, business innovation and expansion, procuring more contracts, and team expansion.

Parminder Sahni and Taranbir Singh founded VsnapU as a platform to provide photography services across multiple geographies at affordable pricing. It works with a mix of full-time photographers on its payroll and gig shutterbugs.

Aggregating locally available photographers, it provides instant photography solutions to individual customers and institutional clients. The latter include hotel chains like Indian Hotels Company Ltd and The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, travel companies like MakeMyTrip, Thomas Cook India and TripAdvisor as well local search platforms like JustDial.

Having covered more than 30,000 shoots, VsnapU plans to expand into the wedding photography business by forging partnerships with established wedding organisers in the country. Deepak Tuli, ex-cofounder of Go ibibo and MakeMyTrip is guiding this journey.

Currently in 40 cities across India, the company is expanding its presence across the globe through its travel photography. This vertical is led by co-founder Anshu Sharma who has more than 20 years of experience in travel and tourism.

Mitesh Shah, Co-founder of Inflection Point Ventures, said, “Occasions like weddings, baby showers, maternity, birthdays and anniversary always call for a photo shoot. However, finding the right photographer has become a challenge for multiple reasons, including unavailability, affordability, and no way to check the track record. VSnapU has created a platform that empowers professional photographers and gives clients the best possible option with live updates and progress on their much-awaited photographs/videos.”

Parminder Sahni, co-founder and CEO of VSnapU, believed photographers should be available as quickly as other professionals like doctors, engineers, or accountants. “Booking a photographer should be as simple as booking a cab or ordering groceries. As social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Tumbler, and Pinterest gain popularity, the photography market is likely to witness rapid growth in the coming years,” he added.
