Stocks to Watch on Thursday, September 21: Indian benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty plunged over 1 per cent on Wednesday on the back of selling in index majors along with weak global markets ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision.

The BSE Sensex tanked 796 points or 1.18 per cent to settle at 66,800.84. The NSE Nifty declined 231.90 points or 1.15 per cent to close at 19,901.40.

"The domestic markets remained under pressure due to rising US bond yields and a stronger greenback. Concerns reigned over upcoming FED policy, interest rate trajectory and rising oil prices. Bank Nifty underperformed today due to rising cost of funds and reduction in deposits leading to moderation in net yield," said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services.

Infosys

The IT major and USA-based NVIDIA have expanded their strategic partnership with the aim to help enterprises worldwide, drive productivity gains with generative AI applications and solutions. Infosys will train 50,000 employees on NVIDIA AI technology.

SJVN

The government is selling up to 9,66,72,962 equity shares or 2.46 per cent stake in the hydroelectric power generation company on 21 and 22 September, with an option to additionally sell 9,66,72,961 equity shares or 2.46 per cent stake. The floor price of the offer will be Rs 69 per share. The offer for sale (OFS) opens for non-retail investors on 21 September and retail investors on 22 September.

State Bank of India

The state-run lender has appointed KFin Technologies as the Registrar and Share Transfer Agent (RTA) in place of existing RTA Alankit Assignments. The formalities for the change of RTA regarding documentation, shifting of electronic connectivity, and transition of data are under process.

Cipla

USFDA conducted an inspection at the manufacturing facility of unit InvaGen Pharmaceuticals Inc in New York from September 11 to 13. InvaGen received five inspectional observations in Form 483 and there are no repeat or data integrity (DI) observations.

Apollo Tyres

Bias and OTR tyre production at their manufacturing plant in Limda, Gujarat, has been suspended due to certain concerns amongst shop floor employees relating to the renewal of the long term settlement agreement. The company is in discussions with the labour union representatives to address their concerns.
