Favourite Movie
Amitabh Bachchan’s Deewaar is one of my favourites. The dialogues, the screenplay, the narrative, Mr Bachchan—everything was magical. In a small town like Moga in Punjab, where I grew up, movies are larger than life, and that movie made me think that if I had to do something, it had to be acting. It was my first step towards Bollywood.
Favourite book
I Am No Messiah, the book that Meena K. Iyer and I wrote together. It covered the last two years of experience we had and is very close to me. It is about a lot of people whom I connected with during the pandemic—while we lost a few, a few became family. The book is always going to be very special, because it came from personal experience.
Favourite sport
Cricket, of course. I have broken my leg playing cricket. It is one sport I love.
Favourite cuisine
Makki di roti and sarso da saag—typical Punjabi food.
Favourite travel destination
Lately, South Africa. I recently spent 40-45 days in South Africa for [TV show] Roadies and the whole journey from Johannesburg to Cape Town was very special. I look forward to going there again.
