As a fresh update in the Adani-Hindenburg rout, the Supreme Court has reportedly agreed to hear another plea filed by Congress leader Jaya Thakur. The updates suggest that the hearing of the plea is expected to take place on February 17, 2023.
According to a report in the Economic Times, in response to the Hindenburg Research report issue, the plea has been filed seeking investigation under the supervision of a sitting apex court judge, against the Adani Group of companies.
A bench comprising of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice P S Narasimha reportedly took note of the submissions made by the lawyer. The bench took note of the request for ‘urgent hearing’ and agreed to the same.

A PTI report adds that the bench initially listed the plea for hearing on February 24, 2023. However, soon after the lawyer pointed towards other two PILs listed on February 17, the bench agreed to list the Adani-Hindenburg matter for the mentioned date.
In addition to this, media reports suggest that the Congress leader also seeks direction for the investigation of the role of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and the State Bank of India (SBI) as the companies reportedly invested whopping amounts in Adani Enterprises.
The Adani-Hindenburg saga has been taking new turns every other day. So far, seven listed companies of the Adani Group, including Adani Enterprises, have lost a major chunk of their market capitalisation due to a selling spree triggered by Hindenburg’s allegations.
