Airtel 5G data plan has now become unlimited for its 5G users. As per official updates, Bharti Airtel today launched an introductory unlimited data offer for its 5G users as the company steps up to compete with Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio and its 5G services.

In a regulatory filing, Bharti Airtel announced that it was removing the capping on data usage across all existing plans. It reads, “Customers will now be able to experience ultrafast, reliable and secure 5G Plus services without having to worry about data exhaustion as the company removes the capping on data usage across all existing plans. All postpaid customers and those prepaid customers with a data plan of Rs. 239 and above will be able to avail of the offer.”

At present, Airtel 5G Plus service is available in over 270 cities. However, one must have a 5G compatible phone to be able to use this service and also be in a 5G compatible area. Alongside this, even Reliance Jio 5G services have spread quickly across the country.

Recently, Reliance Jio too, launched new postpaid family and individual plans with unlimited 5G data and several other benefits. Hence, the move by Airtel is also being seen as bid of stepping up in the competition game.

Commenting on the launch of Airtel 5G unlimited data, Shashwat Sharma, Director Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel said, “We are obsessed with delighting our customers with best-in-class products and services. This introductory offer is in line with the philosophy of wanting our customers to be able to surf, stream, chat and enjoy multiple benefits at blazing speeds without having to worry about data limits.”
