Bottles for Change  

The campaign Bottles For Change was launched back in 2018 to create awareness about the importance of used plastic as a valuable resource. It encourages people to responsibly segregate and dispose of plastic to prevent it from ending in landfills or water bodies. The initiative is currently active in 20 cities, has reached over 8,00,000 citizens, covering 4,295 housing societies, 806 educational institutes, 902 corporates and 722 hotels.  

Bisleri’s commitment to sustainability is driven by the Bisleri Greener Promise, which aims to balance sustainability with business profitability, focusing on water conservation and plastic recycling. At the heart of this philosophy is the belief that Bisleri should replenish more natural resources than it consumes. This goal is achieved through initiatives such as Bottles for Change and Project Nayi Umeed.

Project Nayi Umeed  

Bisleri’s Nayi Ummeed project focuses on conservation through rainwater harvesting by construction and restoration of check dams. Since 2001, Bisleri has built or restored 250 check dams across Gujarat, Western and Central Maharashtra, harvesting nearly 25 billion litres of water.

These efforts have directly benefitted over 280 villages and nearly 53,000 farmers, irrigating more than 17,000 acres of land. Bisleri’s Sustainability Report 2021-22 by TERI outlines the company’s commitments until 2025. The Bottles for Change programme targets 20 major cities to collect and recycle 12,500MT of plastic by 2025. Under Project Nayi Umeed, the plan is to restore or build 350 dams.

Additionally, the company aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 10 percent and decrease virgin plastic usage by over 7 percent.  Bisleri Vedica, in collaboration with PETA India, has launched the #AdoptDontShop campaign. Reflecting the brand’s ethos of compassion, the campaign encourages pet adoption, especially of Indie dogs, emphasising their lovable qualities.

The partnership supports animal emergency services in New Delhi and Mumbai raising awareness of fostering homes for abandoned pets and promotes a collective consciousness of kindness.
