With the Finance Minister (FM) Nirmala Sitharaman scheduled to deliver the Union Budget 2023 on 1 February, the budget fever has hit a peak. The budget session will officially start on 31 January (Tuesday) when the Economic Survey of India 2023 will be tabled in the Parliament.
Following the President’s address, the Economic Survey, that has been prepared under the supervision of the Chief Economic Advisor, will be tabled in the Lok Sabha by the FM at around 11 AM. The survey is an important document that helps the government assess the impact of policies implemented in the yesteryear.

After the presentation in the Parliament, it is usually elaborated in depth by the CEA during a press conference that will take place later in the day. The document will give an overview of macroeconomic indicators before delving deep into various sectors and identifying the key challenges for policymakers.
