Out of all the changes brought in by Elon Musk, the social media platform’s foray into the financial world with the introduction of Twitter Cashtags, is seemingly the most engaging of all. While we all thought the checking the prices of stocks, crypto etc., is possible on Twitter with $Cashtags, Musk has gone a step ahead and tied up with eToro, an investing platform.
According to media reports, Twitter’s tie-up with eToro is expected to expand the existing features of the social media platform and Cashtags by giving users an opportunity to view market charts, buy and sell stocks etc., - all from the company.

Twitter $Cashtags – How Does It Work?
In a previous tweet, the official handle of Twitter Business explained that in order to use $Cashtags, the ‘$’ symbol will be very important. Hence, whenever a user needs to search anything about a major stock, ETF or crypto, they have to use that particular symbol preceded by the ‘$’ like ‘$BTC.’
Once the user types this, the clickable link shows them the pricing graphs in the form of search results. If one were to dive deeper into this, a glossary of terms on Twitter’s official handles explains that one can see all tweets by using the same symbol, upon clicking the particular cashtag.

However, the social media platform also explains that one could tap the chart to see “an interactive view powered by Trading View,” all via cashtags.
In 2022, billionaire Elon Musk mentioned that $Cashtags as a feature is one of the many product improvements being done for financial Twitter. It also aligns with Musk’s idea of making the social media giant an ‘everything app.’
eToro And Twitter Cashtags – The Big Tie-Up
In an official tweet, eToro wrote, “🎉Very excited to be launching a new $Cashtags partnership with @Twitter which will enable Twitter users to see real-time prices for a much wider range of stocks, crypto & other assets as well as having the option to invest through eToro. @elonmusk”
According to media reports, the tie-up with eToro is expected to enhance a Twitter user’s experience of using the Cashtags feature. Earlier, users were able to view real-time trading data from Trading View but only for some assets and stocks. The data for others could not be available for a host of reasons. However, now with eToro, Twitter users can easily go to the platform, check relevant information and also invest alongside in that particular asset or stock.
