Crisis-hit Go First airlines have reportedly informed its pilots about ‘resumption’ plans from May 27, 2023. As per a report, the cash-strapped airlines may start flying once again from the mentioned date.
According to a report in the Economic Times, Go First is also planning to re-start training classes for its pilots from today – all this in the backdrop of repeated cancellation of flights that Go First has been doing due to the on-going crisis.
“Operations are likely to commence from 27 May. Since there has been a gap in flying operations, it has been decided to conduct an online ground refresh course,” the Economic Times quoted Go First’s memo as saying.

The report adds that it is mandatory for pilots to do a refresher course training as they have not been flying any of the Go First aircrafts since May 3, 2023. However, there are still doubts about resumption of flights as several lease agreements have been terminated by lessors, the report adds.
As far as the capacity of resumption goes, as per the publication, Go First may re-start with less than 20 aircrafts but smaller operations. “The airline has 27 aircrafts which were operating till 2 May. It has 51 and 37 departure slots at the main airports of Delhi and Mumbai. There is a plan to resume operation as early as possible but it will be with a truncated schedule,” the publication quoted a source as saying.
