Disney Star Network said on Thursday that it added 2.1 crore new viewers of Indian Premier League 2023 on Television during the Rivalry Week of the tournament.
After the week 6 viewership numbers, the network said the total tally of live viewership for the tournament has reached 47.14 crore after 57 games, which is the highest in IPL’s history at the same stage.
It also informed in its statement that seven matches during the week 6 crossed concurrency of 3 crore, with Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians match recording peak concurrency of 4.7 crore.
Disney Star Network has the TV broadcasting rights for IPL 2023 while Jio is streaming the tournament on digital services.
On the viewership record, the network’s statement said, “Disney Star’s unwavering commitment to deliver world-class standards of coverage, customised offerings across 13 live feeds in nine languages, the best line-up of Cricket as well as non-Cricketing talent and unparalleled programming initiatives have positioned Television as the go-to platform for the live broadcast of the IPL.”

The Star Network also posted year-on-year growth of more than 44% in Weekly TV Ratings for week 6 compared to the previous edition.
The Rivalry Week of the tournament was an initiative of Disney Star Network to promote key rivalries between several popular teams. The network said it is also building ‘Race to The Playoffs’ through initiatives across its live programmes and fan engagement.
IPL began on March 31st and the final of the premier cricket tournament will be played on May 28 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
